Waitress

I hope you don't think I'm weird. Strike that. You know I'm weird. I'll just say what I've come to say and be done with it. This was one of the best movies I've seen. And I didn't even really want to watch it. I went into Blockbuster for a movie about servers that I heard was funny and since the title of this was Waitress, I thought I had the right movie. I rented it, got home, read the back and realized it was not the one I wanted. It was a two day rental due back at noon today. So I took a break this morning and watched it.

I am stunned. Ok, maybe I saw one movie that compared to it this year. Maybe, I can't say when I actually watched A Love Song for Bobby Long but that one is about as good as this one. The difference is while there isn't a whole lot going on, the tension is incredible through the whole movie. I was a ball of emotion. Angry, sad, happy, giggly. I was a Yo-yo. I hope it's not just pms, I think it's more to do with the characterization, maybe some stereotypes come to life, but the story is just one of those you love.

Watch it and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the post on my blog! We live 45 min west of Indianapolis--I'm not sure where Knox is :)

We actually saw the Waitress at the Indy Art theater for our 10 year anniversary--and I ended up bawling through most of it. You can read about it here: http://morequestionsthana.blogspot.com/2007/06/waitress.html It is a great movie!

I can't believe you've seen this movie and I haven't! I think this is the second time (the first being the Bobby Long movie, ironically enough). It's been on my queu. For the longest time, Blockbuster said they didn't have it. I wrote them emails saying Netflix did and how could I request it and blah, blah, blah.
Now they have it. Wahoo! Maybe I'll have to scoot it up on my queu.
