Pondering

There's always a discussion somewhere about the quality of the end product Christian artists are putting out. The Master's Artist, Your Writer's Group, and Faith In Fiction are some of my favorite hangouts. The first edition of Relief: A Quarterly Christian Expression is coming out soon and I'm excited about their vision and purpose.

Comment if you have any other good blogs I should visit.

Deb Gyapong posted this and I started pondering.

If all we offer up in our art is less than quality, won't God use it anyway? I mean, it is all we're giving Him to use. So its not like He's going to give up on us and not use it, right?

I agree with you, Michelle. But I think there's a difference in giving God our best, even if our best isn't exactly Dostoyevsky or Dickens or Rembrandt or Mozart, and continue to strive for excellence, for just accepting something that is substandard when we know it could be better.
