Hair

Zane is 8. And is obsessed with his peach fuzz.

Zane: I have one chest hair. Look

Me: Wow. That's great son.

Zane: I can see 4 dark spots when I look in the mirror on my lip right here (points to upper lip)

Me: Wow! So you're getting a mustache, huh?

Zane: (smiling big and proud, sticking out chest)

Me: That's something all right.

Zane: I have maybe a spot on my armpit too.

Me: You're just getting hair everywhere. That's great. (because he's obviously proud)

Zane: I have one more kind of hair.

Me: Stop. If it's anywhere near your privates I don't want to know.

Zane: Well, it is, but I wasn't going to tell you that.

Me: Stop talking. I don't need to know about that hair.

Zane: But I wasn't going to...

Me: Stop. Talk to your dad about that.

Zane: Well I have 4 kinds of hair now. (Walks away proud and laughing)

This is really funny Michelle! Funny you should write this today. Jacob isn't normally obsessed with hair - but told me today that he has really hairy legs. I went on to tell him that he looked like a monkey when he was born - he was so hairy. LOL

Our conversation ended there.

With three boys 15, 12 and 9, we have had some similiar conversations over the years. I am totally cracking up. You gotta love, love, love boys, I know I sure do!

That is hilarious! Leave it to a boy to be thrilled with that. If it was my 4 year-old daughter she'd be mortified and asking me to pluck it so no one laughed at her.

If he wants, I'll donate my leg and armpit hair to his cause.
What if someone collected their leg and armpit hair?

LOL! Funny how they all have varying perspectives. My oldest has quite hairy legs (although very light) and armpit hair and some chin hairs. He's pretty neutral about the whole deal. His friend, however, has been pretty thrilled with his own personal hair. Being a girl and having no brothers, I have no prior experience with the puberty boy hair thang, so it's funny.
