Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I'm back in the game baby! Finding out I have a severe thyroid problem answered a lot of my health questions and after 4 months of adjusting dosage of the medication, I think I can officially say I'm on the road to feeling better. Things are not quite right yet and I think I have a few months of blood tests to go before the medication is right and I'm not sure I'm "me" again yet, however, taking down the Christmas tree is sort of a symbol of good things to come. (Quit making fun of me) Okay, don't.

Most people, like Steph over at Adventures in Babywearing conceive, are beautiful pregnant people, and give birth in 9 months. I put up my Christmas tree last October and stared at it with remorse and wished I knew what was wrong with me and why I had no energy. But now, I've birthed a new outlook on life!

Instead, go get your husband right now. Go. I'll wait.

There.

Now you can say to him, "See. I'm not that bad. Look at Michelle. She just took her Christmas tree down Sunday July 27."

So. Without further ado...

Before

After

And yes. The bed is in the living room because we're going to remodel the master bedroom.

How ironic is it that our comforter is the exact same color and fabric as our sectional? I had no clue. Seriously!

Thanks for the great laugh (I am glad you feel better!) My favorite was the husband part b/c my BFF call each other all the time with a similar line!

The room looks so bare now - just kidding! Great tackle!

First I want to say that before I read that your bed was in your living room, I thought you had a gigantic bedroom lol. I was almost jealous.
Second, I want to comment on your thyroid problem. I had a problem with mine too and you know what it ended up being? Low iodine levels. I went to my Chiropractor/CRA and it was simply iodine. I take one dropper a day and whamo I'm good. It's a longer story than that but this is supposed to be a comment not a blog post lol. Speaking of blog post I did post about the iodine deficiency on my blog if you want to check it out.Okay I'm done lol.
Blessings,
Kim

Glad you're feeling better! My husband's grandma had her thyroid removed, and it took her a long time to adjust to the medication.

I'm sorry, but reading your post reminded me of an episod of Roseanne, where they were taking the Christmas lights down at Easter!! :) Just think of it this way: your Christmas spirit lasted a whole lot longer than other peoples'! ;)

The real question: did you light up your tree every night from October through July?
And a bed in the living room, I think, is a good thing. Before I got married, I lived in this tiny studio apartment. Basically everything was one room except that bathroom. I loved watching TV from bed. Doing the dishes from bed. Dusting my bookshelves from bed...

Oh, I thought my mother was the last person to take her tree down -usually around Easter. LOL!! I hope you start feeling back to your old self, soon

That made my eyes hurt, or maybe my head? I couldn't figure out why you had a telly in the fireplace!
Cheers

Two years ago, we didn't do a tree, because we weren't home, but I left my garland up all over the downstairs till May. Glad to know I'm not the only one!

I would say you were just preparing for the "Christmas in July" celebration. :)

I'm glad you're starting to feel better!

But hey, you could have just redecorated it for summer, LOL!

I still have a mini Christmas tree in the main bathroom. I get away with it by decorating it for different holidays so that way it isn't a "Christmas" tree, it's a "4th of July" tree, or a, "Valentine's" tree. Hubby had a birthday party and one of his friends used the bathroom. He came out and said, "Uh... there's some... foliage in your bathroom."

One year I left the greenery garland up over the windows (until we moved out (June)or it'd probably still be there) I just decorated it for the current season! It was really odd seeing easter eggs on Christmas greens! Of course it still had a Christmas look until I did the Easter stuff... You also could have told people you were celebrating Christmas in July!

Congrats on your Tackle & good luck with your remodel!

Oh my goodness- you crack me up. Actually if I had my way, the Christmas tree would stay up all year round and we'd decorate it accordingly...

You are hilarious! So glad you are feeling better and probably even a little at least, now that the tree is down. You must feel like something isn't right everytime you look over in the spot where the tree was!

THAT is WAY too funny!!!! But I am not laughing at you at all! I am laughing WITH you. What a great sense of humor you have to share that with us.
Seriously - I hate taking down the tree. It is soooo depressing and so much work.

How WONDERFUL that you are feeling better!!!!!!!! FABULOUS!!!!

I still have all my Halloween/Fall decorations (15 Rubbermaid containers) in the middle of the garage. I convinced myself a last week not to move them into the attic because I shall need them in two months.
Glad you are feeling better and congrats on a great Tackle!
