Wonder if I should keep a sidebar tally of the rejections I get? Might be interesting.
With that said, the news of the day is I got my very first rejection ever. It was from Coach's Midnight Diner. Coach has a gift, he made me feel good about the rejection, really good. I don't just say things to suck up. He did surprise me though, I mean one of those knock-the-breath-out-of-my-lungs surprises. He said my piece wasn't genre enough, it was horrifying, but not enough so that it fit at the Diner--that it was literary.
Me?
Literary?
I still can't comprehend that. I even had dreams about it last night. Maybe I'll tell you about those later. I can't wrap my mind around being literary. Me. Huh.

Sorry to hear about the rejection. But it's quite a rejection just the same. My first official rejection sucked. Just left me with the feeling that I, well, sucked.
Congrats on getting stuff out there, Mich. Rejections aren't fun (though yours isn't too shabby), but they mean you're one venue closer to finding your story a home.
I'm sorry, too, about your rejection but that really is a good rejection. I just hate the form letter ones. It also means there must be a venue for your work so just say "next" and our cheering squad will be singing back up for you:-) You are an amazing, gifted, and imaginative writer. It's going to happen.
Hang in there.
Abundant blessings,
Jenny Cary
I'm so sorry to hear about your rejection. It's hurts. But think about this-
You sent something OUT to be rejected. It didn't sit in a drawer somewhere. You worked on it and sent it.
I hope that helps.
My goal is to send things out. If I'm published, frosting. If not, doesn't bother me because my goal was already achieved.
You hang in there--
Hey Michelle! I'm over at RWN, too. Just learning, though. Not participaating much. I came your way today via "A New Adventure." I'm just wondering, are you going to share any tidbits of your literary piece?
Blessings and Congrats!
Rejections. Gotta have um to be a real writer, right? Pin it to the wall. Be proud of it. Start a collection:) The only way to get acceptances is to keep putting it out there and risking rejection. I wanna be literary!
Rejections. Gotta love em.
I dreamt about Stephen Crane last night.
Thanks for your thoughts guys. :)
I'm not really upset over the rejection, I'm glad I got a piece out there and I need to get motivated to do more work continuing that story.
H--should I know Stephen Crane?
Stacy--(sorry, hit reply too soon) I probably won't be sharing it, I might just have other plans for it. ;)
