We think we're so very important. Do you realize just how small we really are?
This galaxy is 13 BILLION light-years away from us. This is a picture the Hubble telescope took in 1996. It is the farthest galaxy we've ever seen.
A light-year is a unit of distance. It is the distance that light can travel in one year. Light moves at a velocity of about 300,000 kilometers (km) each second. So in one year, it can travel about 10 trillion km. More precisely, one light-year is equal to 9,500,000,000,000 kilometers.
If one light-year is 9,500,000,000,000 kilometers and this galaxy is 13 BILLION light years away...Do you realize how small we are?
9,500,000,000,000 times 13 billion.
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?(Psalm 8:3,4)
He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Psalm 147:4
13 billion light-years away with all kinds of stuff between us and this galaxy and He counts the number of the starts; He calls them all by name. And this same God knows how many hairs are on each of our heads. And this same God brought Himself to this planet for US because we were created for Him and He loves us. Everything else in creation obeys except for us. We have to decide whether or not we will obey.
I think God was being extremely merciful when he called us only stiff-necked and rebellious.
We are unbelievable. I'm amazed that God cares so much about us.

wow. That sure is a whole lot of km's to travel just to find some stars. If we had to travel that far to talk to our God, we wouldn't have a show. Praise the Lord He came to us. Praise our God that He is everywhere and all we need to do is turn to Him.
May the Lord bless you.
